About this program

The Foundation advances wildfire resilience across Western North America through six funding strategies, working with selected partners. It does not accept unsolicited proposals — support is by invitation only, with no application window or deadline.

Grantees

$87.5M granted since January 2019 across six strategies in Western North America. Grantees include (from the Foundation's 2024 grantee convening; full list at moore.org/grants): Earth Fire Alliance (FireSat), UC Berkeley, XPRIZE Wildfire, the Karuk Tribe, Cultural Fire Management Council, the Climate & Wildfire Institute, Stanford University, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, Colorado State University, The Nature Conservancy, Pacific Forest Trust, Northern Sierra Partnership, Sierra Business Council, Resources for the Future, Federation of American Scientists, the Western Fire Chiefs Association and California Fire Chiefs Foundation (which subcontracted to XyloPlan), USGS, and ~40 organizations in total.
