Developed a parallel-hybrid heavy-lift UAS integrated with a Plastic Sphere Dispenser aerial-ignition system for large-scale prescribed burns, validating roughly a 10x gain in payload (100 lb) and flight duration (2.5 hrs) over existing helicopter-based ignition methods.

NIFA project 1022879 ran 1 September 2020 to 30 April 2021 and is complete. Succeeded by the USDA SBIR Phase 2 award to the same company in August 2021 (~$650K), which is carried as a separate record in this directory.
