USFS Fire and Aviation Management and the Rocky Mountain Research Station's Missoula Fire Sciences Laboratory lead the interagency Wildfire Risk to Communities tool (mandated by the 2018 Consolidated Appropriations Act), with Pyrologix supporting production of the underlying risk datasets and nonprofit Headwaters Economics maintaining the public site; the data is increasingly referenced in insurance and utility risk applications.
