The Forest Service opened an on-ramp to its Type 3 helicopter multiple-award task order contract (light helicopters carrying loads up to 7,000 lb) for fire suppression, aerial ignition, rappel and reconnaissance; proposals were due October 31, 2025.

No ceiling has been published for the Type 3 helicopter MATOC. Structure is firm-fixed-price IDIQ, one-year base plus nine 12-month options, multiple awards anticipated. CAUTION: reporting on this on-ramp cites $3.5B for the USFS Type 1 helicopter MATOC and $1.5B for the Type 2 MATOC — those are separate vehicles with different awardee pools and must not be attached to this record or to any single vendor.
