CAL FIRE is making $10 million in Climate Bond (Proposition 4) funding available for wildfire resilience and forest health work on tribal ancestral lands, including cultural burning, fuels reduction and planning. Eligible applicants are federally recognized tribes, non-federally-recognized California tribes on the California Tribal Contact List, and documented tribal-serving nonprofits. Individual proposals must fall between $250,000 and $3,000,000. Concept proposals are accepted early July to early September 2026; full applications are anticipated October-December 2026. Draft guidelines were posted for public comment in late May 2026.

$10M is the total solicitation amount across multiple awards of $250K-$3M each, not a single award.
