Announced June 8, 2026: SDG&E, Qualcomm Technologies and UC San Diego's Scripps Institution launched Edge Alert Sentinel, an edge-AI system (Qualcomm Dragonwing IQ9) that analyzes wildfire and extreme-weather conditions in real time, first deployed at Mt. Palomar with a pilot through PSPS season and wider rollout targeted for 2027. Collaboration/pilot, not a disclosed-value contract.
