PG&E announced it has buried and energized 1,000 cumulative miles of powerlines across 27 Northern/Central California counties (Butte County leading at 337 miles) under its systemwide undergrounding program, targeting 1,600 miles by end of 2026 en route to a 10,000-mile long-term goal; per-mile cost has fallen to about $3.1 million.
