Details

Chelan County PUD replaced 34 wood structures along a 4-mile transmission line serving the Chelan and Union Valley substations (~3,500 homes) with fire-resistant steel. Work ran July-December 2021 at a reported cost of $2.7 million, finished on time and under budget with no outages. The line had burned down in a 2015 wildfire, cutting power to the valley for 36 hours.
