CAL FIRE Forest Health Program grant funding over 700 acres of prescribed burning and construction of two fuel breaks on Hoopa Valley Tribe land to restore oak woodland and cut wildfire risk; work continued through 2025.

CAL FIRE Forest Health Program grant awarded 2021 with implementation running through 2025; the grant term has now ended. CAL FIRE has since stood up a dedicated Tribal Wildfire Resilience grant programme (2025 solicitation open through the California Grants Portal) which is the successor funding route for tribal fuels and cultural-burning work of this kind.
