Colorado's first state-owned Firehawk helicopter, authorized under SB21-113, featuring a 1,000-gallon tank, retractable snorkel, rescue hoist and capacity for 12 equipped firefighters; delivered in 2022 and reached full flight-ready status in mid-2024.

This procurement is complete — the aircraft was delivered in 2022 and reached full flight-ready status in mid-2024 — but the buyer relationship continued: Colorado DFPC signed with United Rotorcraft for a second Firehawk in May 2023, and by 2026 the state operates two Type 1 Firehawk helicopters alongside two Pilatus PC-12 multi-mission aircraft and two Type 2 helicopters. Retain as a completed capital award with a live follow-on.
