Colorado State Forest Service coverage names Vegetation Management West as the mastication contractor and states the work is paid with U.S. Forest Service grant funds, with participating landowners reimbursed at 75% of treatment cost, but publishes no contract amount. A separate 2023 Colorado 'Forest Restoration and Wildfire Risk Mitigation' grant bought equipment for the Mesa County Sheriff's Office.
