Albuquerque's Parks and Recreation Department fully deployed 29 Torch fire-detection sensors along the Rio Grande Bosque from Bridge Blvd to Alameda Blvd after a year of peak-season testing; Albuquerque was the first US city to test the technology.

Albuquerque Parks and Recreation director Dave Simon told KOB that each Torch sensor costs about $500, though prices may change. No total purchase amount, annual service fee, funding source or city contract award for the 29-sensor Bosque deployment has been published.
